Just something to celebrate the past week, and well, because it’s Friday.
I’d Bake You a Cake
To see a smile
On your beautiful face,
To catch a glimpse
of the stars in your eyes,
To hear the dance
That is the rythym of your heart,
I’d bake you a cake.
It’s such an easy thing
To pour love in a bowl,
To mix it with laughter,
To infuse it with joy.
And, it’s a small thing, I know
And certainly not lasting,
But, with each bite that you take,
With each indulgent sigh,
I hope my secret ingredient,
The abundance of my heart,
Goes straight to yours.

So true, Kathy: a cake says it all. I adore baking.
Thanks, Kate. I really love to bake, and so enjoy the times I can bake with my grandchildren.
This is beautiful, Kathy, can I paste it on my kitchen wall?
I’d be honoured, Cindy.
You wise woman…the heart’s connection.
Thanks, Amy — I’m a sucker for cake — when I was younger, I always ate my dessert first (that is, after I moved out of home, lol)
How sweet 🙂
I don’t think there will EVER be a time that someone baking a cake for someone will have no meaning. It’s very meaningful, very generous & loving. Sigh… I want a home made cake now!
Thank you Noleen — I hope you do get one!
